Networdz
Functions - WFC and Hosting
Each game of scrabble using NetwordZ, requires a WFC
partner and a Hosting partner. The board, however,
is designed to allow up to four players at one time but
at this time, we will outline the procedures for one-on-one
game play only.
Waiting
For Connection - WFC
On
average, WFC'ing will take a new player, a couple
of games to get these functions down pat. Should
you forget a step at any time, do not despair! Dingbot
is available to help you out in a bind. Simply
type !WFC in the channel for instructions.
-
Open
Networdz
-
Click
Options, then Communicate;
-
Select/Tick
Answer Mode - Type in YOUR nickname
-
Click
the Connect button
-
Once
the box has grayed out and a DISCONNECT button
appears,
-
Click
the OK button.
-
Verify
your board status in lower right corner of game
panel
-
When
is reads 'Waiting For Connection',
-
Type
WFC YourHostsNickname
After
a couple of seconds wait, your hosting partner and
you should connect via your NetwordZ boards.
If,
after having followed the above steps exactly and
you and your hosting partner are unable to connect,
it is possible that you are fire walled. Generally,
the WFC person will make a second attempt with a
new board to connect. If this fails, try swapping
roles with your hosting partner.
NOTE: Most
XP users we have found are unable to WFC for their
partners, How ever, we may have solved this small
problem with a re-code of firewall permissions (
Fingers Crossed ).
